What a weekend I had!! I headed down to Orlando, Florida for a photo shoot and ended up wrestling an alligator, dodging a Copperhead snake and hanging with Taylor Swift at the Strawberry Festival! I love Taylor and her songs really keep me going on long flights! It was a real surprise to see her in concert!

This weekend I attended Miss Connecticut Ashley Glenn's send off to Miss America. Boy can she dance! She could have leaped over my head! I was held in Milford, CT at the yacht club there. That Darn Cat

Okay so it all started because my mom was stressed out. We stopped at the shopping center so mom could go get quick massage at the nail salon, I didn't feel like waiting around so I went over to Bob's Stores to poke around and I found this great hat. That would be the end of the story but when I put it on mom went crazy and loved it so much she wanted to take my Christmas photos with it. But my offical holiday photos where taken back in August and are ready to be mailed out, I should have rememebered that one, mom got one over on me. This is my cat boomer. He is actually skinny under all that fur. He wouldn't cooperate at all for the shoot. That Darn Cat, hey that would be a great title for a Disney movie don't ya think???

Hair & Make up Show!

Tonight I was in a hair & make up show benefit, which was held at Club 960 in the old G Fox Building in Hartford. The place is so retro. There was a wedding going on next door and it looked so elegant! My mom remembers going shopping there when she was a little girl. All the ladies where really nice to me and I got a gorgeous hair style and make up look by Beauty Entourage/ Salon Alexander in New Britain. They are right near Rock Cats Stadium!! This week I was cast in a Japanese Music video for a group named DEEN. Their lead singer is Ikemori Shuichi. Here is one of their You Tubes to enjoy until the video comes out later this fall! If you go to You Tube ad search for there videos you will understand why they are so popular in Japan. DEEN'S music is awesome and it is almost impossible to sit still during one of their songs, even if you don't know a word of Japanese!

PS: They didn't have sushi for lunch, they had Chinese! Yum! Don't worry guys, I love Hibachi, it's the sushi I haven't gotten used to yet, but they tell me it is an acquired taste.

PSS: If you thought your eyes where fooling you and you thought you saw me running around the Tavern on the Green past Jerry Stiller in a white dress with a gang of Japanese guys following, don't get new glasses that was ME!!!!

PSSS: My dogs are still barking and if you notice below tomorrow I will be stomping some stilettos down a runway! Woe is me, but it's for a good cause!

Today we headed to New England to the Wachusetts Mountain Kid's Fest Fashion Show (Kind of sounds like a sneeze, don't you think??) Barring the fact that I was in a sweater, scarf and wool pea coat for the show in about 78 degree weather, it was a lot of fun. If you get a chance to go next year, GO!! CAMP HOPE

Today I volunteered for the day at Camp Hope! I had a fun time and got to try out the zip line! I was a bit hesitant at first, but once I got up there it was way fun! It is a beautiful camp and I'm glad I finally got to see it. My good friend actress Alexis French shot a movie here last summer and I can't wait to see it now that I have been here myself. I also ran into Julie from Ford Models,who I've seen a few times at go-sees,(see last pic) she is so pretty! To all my new friends at Camp Hope *PEACE*

Southwest Airlines Art Exhibit By Mary Kate Malat

Flights to the west coast can be a bit...well boring. Southwest Airlines is great and their flight attendants are very funny so I drew some of them. It was a very exclusive show. If you weren't on flight 794 from Las Vegas, you missed it.

I'm bummed, I'm told tomorrow is the big day for him and Beyonce. I guess I'm too young for him anyways. I met Jay Z at a party last month but didn't get to get a photo with him because the press was pushing all over him. I did get to leave the party with Beyonce's new album! Thanks Warner Brothers! It's awesome!

NES is this weekend!!

I haven't done a pageant in years but I'm a lifetime (Honorary) Queen for the NES pageant system. This is an old photo I found from my first "cover" win. I look so tired in the photo. We always had such a good time playing games at the party the night before we where all so tired for the awards.

Okay, yep I'm crazy, but it was for a good cause!! This is me at a fundraiser whereas you get in the water even though it isn't summer. Yep, these where taken in New England last weekend!! It was 40 degrees out. They tell me I was lucky last year it was 33 degrees.

Martell Foundation Benefit

This year's Martell Foundation Benefit honoring Warner Brother music VP Kevin Liles was a Blast!! I got to meet Cheri Dennis, Jay-z, the Naked Brother's Band,(they had their clothes on thank goodness), Nick Cannon and Nia Long from some of my favorite movies "Are we there yet" and Momma's House/Momma's House 2!! They said the raised over $400,000!! Awesome! I also got to meet the famous Dr. Oz!!

Gidget errr...Mary Kate goes to Hawaii!!

Here are a few photos of me on Waikiki Beach. Hawaii was fun. The really say aloha for hello, goodbye and "I love you" and ma halo for thank you. I found out why it is so hard to tell Hawaiian words apart. It is because there are only 7 letters in the Hawaii set of consonants and of course all the vowels. So I figured from reading signs the only letters are a,e,i,o,u, y?? And k,p,l,n,m,w,& h. I got to go on a submarine and eight count'em airplanes. Well we did some island hopping so I guess it wasn't all bad. We took the road to Hana and I got to swim at black, red and gray sand beaches. I wish I got to surf but there wasn't much surfing in Waikiki and in Maui you sort of needed to be pro.

Shoot at Time Out New York

This afternoon I had a photo shoot for Time Out New York Kids' Magazine it was fun but the traffic into Manhattan was very bad and I am very impatient sitting in traffic, which is why I want to be so famous I can take one of those helicopters everywhere that I sat next to in traffic for two hours on the Westside Highway to get to the shoot! Well as you can see I had on very strange make up and I don't exactly look like me. It was because they where trying to make me look like someone else who is very famous and probably got to fly in a few of the copter's in her day. I can't tell you anymore but check me out in the February edition! Just a hint: "Oh my nose! After the shoot we went to "The Melting Pot" for fondue. This was my first having fondue and I loved it. They put a pot on a burner in the middle of you table and you cook your own food in garlic broth. The steam kept blowing my way and I smelled like garlic and well "Oh my nose"!

Just an update on Brooklyn Decker (the girl who is #3)!! She can be seen in the 2008 SI Swimsuit Issue and she just got engaged to Tennis player Any Roddick! Congrats Brooklyn!, and she got to shoot in Israel for her shoot in a bikini!! I don't know if I would be down with that long plane ride. I'm so proud to be featured in an article with someone so accomplished!

One job I did a few years ago was modeling Halloween costumes for Rubie's Costumes in Queen's NY Since then I'm everywhere dressed as Betsy Ross, Jennie from Forest Gump and angels, princesses and even a Troll (I'll never live that one down!) Every Halloween you can find me just about anywhere.

Hey What's it like to be a model??

Well, it's like, go-see this, go-see that LOL Some people think is all fun but sometimes it's a lot of running around. Today I had two go-sees in Manhattan. A go-see is when they are checking you out to see if they want to hire you for a shoot. It's like an audition but for models. Here I am in SOHO going to one of my go-sees for DKNY. Then we had to rush to get to the next one up on w29th to see someone about an H&M ad. Go-sees aren't as fun as shoots and you don't get paid for them. Sometimes you have to wait in long lines to be seen. Today I was lucky as they were request go-sees so there was only a few people there. Sometimes you have to do a lot of fast walking to get to them in time (see tired feet).

Well here are my flowers I grew. As I see it, it cost us about $20 for this bouquet. I planted a bazzilon seeds and this is what came up! I do like the photo I took of the flowers. Here is a really weird pic of my eye. I though it was creepy.

Justice Shoot

Last week a shot an ad for Justice (which is owned by Limited Too)It was so much fun. We got to shoot in Central Park in NYC and the trailer was set up right in front of the Museum of Natural History where "A Night at the Museum" was filmed. Even though I didn't have much time I was able to walk thru the exhibits quickly because after 4:45 the museum is free! Here are some photos from me from the shoot. Reservation Road

We just found out that the movie I was in with Elle Fanning "Reservation Road" release date has been moved up to October 19th. It got an "R" rating so I might not be able to bring my friends to it as I had hoped. marykatemalat.com is now an affilate of www.elle-fanning.org Which is a great website to find out information obout the movie. I also learn through Elle's website that it will be premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. We are thinking of going because my photo is going to be up in the Vaungh Mills mall and on some billboards in that area.

This me and my friend Nora that I met on the set!

Today we got great news from the folks who produced "Hope and a Little Sugar" My first film which was a "Bollywood-Hollywood" colaboration. This was my first movie that was shot about two 1/2 years ago. It was so much fun and I will always remember it. My mom & I now watch Bollywood films when ever we can and sometimes we see actors & actresses I got work with and it seems surreal.


"Please let Mary Kate know that her performance survived the final cut and her "trick or treat" scene has now been viewed at film festivals all around the world (New York City; Goa, India; Karachi, Pakistan; Milan, Italy, et al). The film is currently awaiting distribution and will have its official release sometime in the near future."

On the set of "The Dollmaker"

I got to play an evil girl scout type person in this film by NYU film maker Selom Adzamli. The crew who also worked on the project where Nathan Rotschild, Olivia Abtahi and Ben Saltzman. The students where ironically a lot more organized then some of the pros I've worked with and the shoot only took a few hours. The other actors where Page, Cam, Barry and Oliva.

This past weekend I was one of the hostesses of the New England Star Pageant AKA NES. I'm the girl who brings out the big check to the winner. It sounds easy enough right?? Well first my make up artist from Kentucky's flight got cancelled. You all know you can't hostess a pageant without a really big Southern style hair do and lots of make up! So I had to do my own with my mom's make up. It was so good to see so many friends from the past when I used to do pageants.

I was every excited when I was doing a shoot down in SOHO for Macy's Midwest and the stylist brought out a Hannah Montana shirt for me to model for them. Ok now I wish these guys where in my choir, because they really can sing! I ran into the Jonas Brothers at a Martell Foundation fundraiser recently. My friends all think they are soooo cute and where very jealous I got to hang out with them.

This is my new boyfriend...he says he's a Soprano also. I'm going to try to get him to join the choir at school cuz all we have is girl soprano's in our section. Mom practically passed out when I showed her his picture maybe because she was so suprised he was a soprano also???

Last night two of my friends and I taped a show for Nickelodeon well basiscally we did a lot of screaming, sometimes at nothing, sometimes at cows and bananas. Another year another movie!

Last week I was in the film Reservation Road (2007) directed by Terry George with Joaquin Phoenix, Elle Fanning (Dakota's sister), Mira Sorvino, Mark Ruffalo and Jennifer Connelly. My part wasn't all that big but it was a fun experience and we did get to work closely with all the stars but we where not allowed to take pictures on the set :(. Elle was really nice and said she doesn't get to see her sister all that much. It's hard work and it was freezing out when we finished shooting an outdoors scene at 3am (Yawn!) Here are some photos of me and the other kids in the holding room. You might recognize the girl next to me at the craft truck, her name is Erica and she is one of the girls who has her photo up really really big in front of Limited Too right now. We have worked together before on other modeling jobs and we both made the first cut for the Limited Too shoot but she was lucky enough to get it!

My 12th birthday party

My 12th birthday party was soooo much fun we took a limo into Mahattan and had dinner at Bubba Gump's and then went to see the premiere of Mary Poppin's and had our photo's up on the sign in front of Toy r us!

Mom told me to get out of that barrel and stomp whining!!

This is me at the Biltmore Mansion In Asheville NC on Easter. It was sort of boring there but a waiter dropped a whole tray of food on my mom during Easter dinner and THAT was AWESOME!!!

Class Picture Day

This is my school picture. Mine are usually awful like everyone elses. This ones not so bad except you can't see the H on my shirt.

This is kind of embarassing but Supermodels Unlimited named me as one of their top 15 most beautiful models. I was the youngest one! It was sort of weird being in an article that also featured a former Miss USA.

Martha Stewart

Here I am at the Martha Stewart Show. It was really neat because I got to meet Raven Symone. I'm her biggest fan. Martha and Raven made faux leather bracelets and all of us kids on the show got them. The Show aired live so if you didn't see it you missed it. But they are airing two more shows that I was part of the audience for that they taped right after the Raven show. They will air on July 13th & 14th 2006 look for me in the audience!!

Famous Barr Shoot

On Sunday I did a shoot for Famous Barr. My mom thought the shoot was for a bar and was kind of weird about it but it turns out Famous Barr is Macy's in Indiana and Kentucky. I don't know why they don't just call it Macy's. The hair people where from England kind of a long way to come just to do may hair but talking to them was fun and they where nice and told me about their kids back in England.
